After writing yesterday's post I began thinking of excuses I make for my diabetes:
Excuses made to others:- Why I eat healthily
- Why I don't eat sugar
- Why I drink light beer
- Why I am so thin
- Why I go to the bathroom before each meal
Excuses made to myself:- Why I am eating sugar (or carbs)
- Why my vision is blurry
- Why my blood glucose is high/low
- Why my stomach (injection sites) hurt
I'm sure the list could go on forever. And I'm not sure which is worse: telling this to others or to myself. I'm sure they are both pretty bad, and this is a habit I hope to stop. Awareness cannot improve if we don't start talking.
